1. Kolkata-headquartered UCO Bank has set up an e-lobby with four self-operated machines for cash deposit, withdrawal, cheque deposit and pass book printing in the Supreme Court complex. The facilities could be accessed 24x7, UCO bank said in a statement.

यूको बैंक ने एक बयान में कहा है कि, यूको बैंक ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट परिसर में नकद जमा, निकासी, चेक जमा और पासबुक प्रिंटिंग के लिए चार स्वचालित मशीनों की स्थापना की है यह सुविधा 24x7 आधार पर प्राप्त की जा सकती है। यूको बैंक का मुख्यालय कोलकाता में है।

2. Corporation Bank will open 200 ‘Corp Excel’ branches by the end of December 2015, according to S R Bansal, Chairman and Managing Director of the bank.
Under the business process re-engineering project of the bank titled ‘Project Sankalp’, Corp Excel branches will have a layout that is demarcated between customer facing and operations work. It also includes a convenient and simplified queue management system and sufficient customer waiting area.

3. A day after power tariff hike, the Government has announced subsidy for Delhi residents consuming electricity up to 400 units. This is part of Delhi budget which was presented by Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley, in the Lok Sabha.

7. Details in the Budget documents reveal that the Government wants to control expenditure on subsidy by lowering the number of subsidised domestic gas cylinders and revising urea prices.
The medium-term fiscal statement, as part of the Budget documents laid in Parliament, said, “With rising fuel subsidy, there is a need to cap the subsidised cylinders at a more realistic level.”

8. India has been the worst performer among BRICS nation in an annual index which measures innovation in various countries.
While the other members of the grouping of large emerging economies all improved their rankings in the 2014 Global Innovation Index (GII) -- Russia by as many as 13 positions to reach 49th -- India slipped 10 places compared to last year, placing 76th.

10. The Centre has moved the Supreme Court seeking transfer of all cases from high courts to the apex court filed by various mining companies against cancellation of their licences. The apex court has issued notices to mining companies on the Centre’s transfer petition.

1. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, on 4th July dedicated to the nation, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Udhampur railway line. The Prime Minister flagged off the first train to Udhampur, from Katra Railway Station, and spoke to schoolchildren on board the train. The train was flagged off amid vociferous chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" by the children.

2. Protesting against the imbalance in favour of developed countries at the ongoing World Trade Organisation (WTO) negotiations at Geneva, India on Wednesday broke away from the consensus on the Trade Facilitation (TF) Protocol. In a strong statement India said it will support the TF agreement only if there is progress in Geneva on mechanisms for ensuring permanent protection of the government’s Minimum Support Price (MSP) against the WTO’s subsidy caps.

5. The Reserve Bank of India, on Thursday, relaxed norms for overseas investment by Indian corporates by raising their borrowing limit. The financial commitment should be limited within 400 per cent compared to earlier level of 100 per cent of the net worth as per the last audited balance sheet of the company. Last year, the RBI had reduced the ODI limit to 100 per cent of a company’s net worth from 400 per cent for all companies.

6. India’s Mars orbiter spacecraft has completed 75 per cent of its journey for its rendezvous with the red planet scheduled for September 24. The spacecraft has covered a distance of approximately 510 million kilometres on its heliocentric arc towards Mars capture, Bangalore headquartered ISRO said. With this, three-fourth of the 300-day voyage in deep space to Mars has been completed.

भारत के मंगल ग्रह परिक्रमा अंतरिक्ष यान ने 24 सितंबर को निर्धारित लाल ग्रह से मुलाकात की अपनी यात्रा का 75 फीसदी हिस्सा पूरा कर लिया है। इसरो के बंगलौर मुख्यालय के अनुसार अंतरिक्ष यान ने मंगल ग्रह पर कब्जा करने की दिशा में अपने सूर्य केंद्रीय चाप पर लगभग 510 मिलियन किलोमीटर की दूरी तय कर ली है। इस के साथ ही, मंगल ग्रह की गहन अंतरिक्ष में 300 दिन की यात्रा का तीन चौथाई हिस्सा पूरा कर लिया है।

1. Japan has started issuing multiple entry visas for short term to Indians, which could lead to more business and leisure travel between the two countries.The new regime will allow Indian visitors to spend up to 15 days on a visit, with the visa likely to be valid for three years.

जापान ने दोनों देशों के बीच और अधिक व्यापार व अवकाश यात्रा को बढ़ावा देने के लिए भारतीयों के लिए लघु अवधि के लिए एकाधिक प्रवेश वीजा जारी करना शुरू कर दिया है। नई नियमों के अनुसार भारतीय आगंतुकों को तीन साल की वैधता वाले वीजा के साथ, एक यात्रा पर 15 दिन तक खर्च करने का अवसर प्राप्त होगा।

2. Telangana may present its maiden budget in August 14, and the new State may start off with a small revenue surplus. The size of the maiden budget of new Telangana State is likely to be pegged at Rs. 70,000 crore. A senior official in the Telangana Government said as things stood at present, the Plan size would be in the neighbourhood of Rs. 20,000 crore, while the Non-Plan component could be Rs. 50,000 crore.

Software services major Infosys today announced a tie-up with the Philippines-based SMART Enterprise to develop new industry solutions in the areas of Machine to Machine (M2M) Communication and Internet of Everything (IoE). These solutions are aimed at enabling organisations to listen, respond and make predictions based on machine-generated data.

4. The encouraging response for 5kg LPG cylinders has prompted Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd to look at introducing 3kg and 2kg cylinders in the market. 6. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, on 3rd July announced the decision of the Government of India to introduce four new vaccines as part of India’s Universal Immunization Programme (UIP). Vaccines against rotavirus, rubella and polio (injectable) will collectively expedite India’s progress on meeting the Millennium Development Goal 4 targets to reduce child mortality by two-thirds by the year 2015 and meet global polio eradication targets. In addition, an adult vaccine against Japanese encephalitis will be introduced in districts with high levels of the disease.

The Oil Marketing Companies have revised the price of non-subsidised domestic LPG cylinders beyond the annual cap of 12 cylinders by Rs. 16.50 with effect from midnight of 30th June/1st July 2014 in accordance with international prices. More than 99% customers use less than 12 cylinders per year and thus will remain unaffected by this hike. This price increase will affect only less than 1% of consumers who consume more than 12 cylinders per annum.

तेल विपणन कम्पनियों ने अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय मूल्यों के अनुसार साल में मिलने वाले 12 सिलेन्डरों के अलावा बिना सब्सिडी वाले घरेलू एलपीजी सिलेन्डरों पर 30 जून की मध्यरात्रि से 16.50 रुपए की बढ़ोतरी की है। 99 प्रतिशत से अधिक उपभोक्ता सालभर में 12 से कम सिलेन्डर उपयोग करते है। इस प्रकार इस मूल्य वृद्धि से कोई विशेष प्रभाव नहीं पडेगा। इस मूल्य वृद्धि से हर साल 12 से अधिक सिलेन्डर उपयोग करने वाली 1 प्रतिशत से भी कम उपभोक्ता पर ही कुछ प्रभाव पडेगा।

9. Union Urban Development, Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu on 3rd July suggested a 25-point charter for urban planning and management to ensure planned urbanisation, assured amenities and decent urban life.
