1. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, on 4th July dedicated to the nation, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Udhampur railway line. The Prime Minister flagged off the first train to Udhampur, from Katra Railway Station, and spoke to schoolchildren on board the train. The train was flagged off amid vociferous chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" by the children.
प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द मोदी ने 4 जुलाई को श्री माता वैष्णोदेवी कटरा-उधमपुर रेल लाइन राष्ट्र को समर्पित की। प्रधानमंत्री कटरा रेलवे स्टेशन से उधमपुर के लिए पहली रेल सेवा को हरी झंडी दिखाई और रेल में यात्रा करने वाले विद्यालय के छात्र-छात्राओं से बातचीत की। इस रेल को बच्चों के “भारत माता की जय” उद्घोष के साथ रवाना किया गया।
2. Protesting against the imbalance in favour of developed countries at the ongoing World Trade Organisation (WTO) negotiations at Geneva, India on Wednesday broke away from the consensus on the Trade Facilitation (TF) Protocol. In a strong statement India said it will support the TF agreement only if there is progress in Geneva on mechanisms for ensuring permanent protection of the government’s Minimum Support Price (MSP) against the WTO’s subsidy caps.
जारी विश्व व्यापार संगठन (डब्ल्यूटीओ) वार्ता में विकसित देशों के पक्ष में असंतुलन के विरूद्ध बुधवार को जिनेवा में, भारत ने विरोध जताते हुए व्यापार सुविधा (TF) प्रोटोकॉल पर आम सहमति से अपने को अलग कर लिया है। एक सख्त बयान में भारत ने कहा है कि वह व्यापार सुविधा समझौते का समर्थन तभी करेगा यदि जिनेवा में, विश्व व्यापार संगठन की सब्सिडी सीमा के विरूद्ध सरकार के न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य (एमएसपी) की स्थायी सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने की प्रणाली पर प्रगति होती है।
3. Official government statistics indicate that there has been a turnaround in India’s Public Distribution System (PDS). The share of households consuming PDS rice has nearly doubled over seven years and those consuming PDS wheat has more than tripled over the same period.
आधिकारिक सरकारी आंकड़ों से भारत की सार्वजनिक वितरण प्रणाली (पीडीएस) में परिवर्तन का संकेत मिलता है। सार्वजनिक वितरण प्रणाली से चावल लेने वाले परिवारों का हिस्सा सात वर्षों में लगभग दोगुना हो गया है और समान अवधि में सार्वजनिक वितरण प्रणाली से गेहूं का उपभोग करने वाले लोगों की संख्या तीन गुने से भी अधिक हो गयी है।

5. The Reserve Bank of India, on Thursday, relaxed norms for overseas investment by Indian corporates by raising their borrowing limit. The financial commitment should be limited within 400 per cent compared to earlier level of 100 per cent of the net worth as per the last audited balance sheet of the company. Last year, the RBI had reduced the ODI limit to 100 per cent of a company’s net worth from 400 per cent for all companies.
भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने गुरुवार को, भारतीय कंपनियों की उधार लेने की उनकी सीमा बढ़ाने के द्वारा विदेशों में निवेश मानदंडों में ढील दी है। वित्तीय प्रतिबद्धता कंपनी के अंतिम अंकेक्षित तुलन पत्र के अनुसार निवल मूल्य के 100 प्रतिशत के पहले के स्तर की तुलना में 400 प्रतिशत के भीतर सीमित की गयी है। पिछले वर्ष, आरबीआई ने विदेशी प्रत्यक्ष निवेश सभी कंपनियों के लिए निवल मूल्य के 400 प्रतिशत से घटाकर 100 प्रतिशत कर दिया था।
6. India’s Mars orbiter spacecraft has completed 75 per cent of its journey for its rendezvous with the red planet scheduled for September 24. The spacecraft has covered a distance of approximately 510 million kilometres on its heliocentric arc towards Mars capture, Bangalore headquartered ISRO said. With this, three-fourth of the 300-day voyage in deep space to Mars has been completed.
भारत के मंगल ग्रह परिक्रमा अंतरिक्ष यान ने 24 सितंबर को निर्धारित लाल ग्रह से मुलाकात की अपनी यात्रा का 75 फीसदी हिस्सा पूरा कर लिया है। इसरो के बंगलौर मुख्यालय के अनुसार अंतरिक्ष यान ने मंगल ग्रह पर कब्जा करने की दिशा में अपने सूर्य केंद्रीय चाप पर लगभग 510 मिलियन किलोमीटर की दूरी तय कर ली है। इस के साथ ही, मंगल ग्रह की गहन अंतरिक्ष में 300 दिन की यात्रा का तीन चौथाई हिस्सा पूरा कर लिया है।
7. Four-party meet held in Berlin on 2 July 2014 agreed on a series of step to resume the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine. The four-party meet was held between Foreign Ministers of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France.

8. Swamy Goud of Telangana Rashtriya Samiti party was elected as Chairman of the 40-member Telangana Legislative Council (LC) on 2 July 2014. Goud was polled 21 votes against zero votes polled for Farooq Hussain, congress candidate who contested for the chairman of Legistlative council of Telangana.

9. Ram Naresh Yadav was sworn-in as Governor of Chhattisgarh at Raj Bhawan, Raipur on 2 July 2014. Ram Naresh Yadav, Governor of Madhya Pradesh, has been given the additional charge of Chhattisgarh. He was adminsterd oath of secrecy by the Chief Jusitce Yatindra Singh of Bilaspur High Court, Chhattisgarh. Ram replaced Shekhar Dutt, who resigned as the Governor of Chhattisgarh on 18 June 2014.

10. Michelle Howard became the first female four-star admiral in US Navy. She is the first women admiral in 236 year old history of US Navy. Vice-Admiral Michelle was promoted to the highest rank of four-star admiral at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial in US on 1 July 2014.
मिशेल हावर्ड अमेरिकी नौसेना की पहली महिला चार सितारा एडमिरल बन गयी हैं। वह अमेरिकी नौसेना के 236 साल पुराने इतिहास में एडमिरल बनने वाली पहली महिला हैं। वाइस एडमिरल मिशेल को 1 जुलाई 2014 को अमेरिका में अमेरिका मेमोरियल के लिए सैन्य सेवा में महिलाओं की चार सितारा एडमिरल के सर्वोच्च पद पर पदोन्नत किया गया।
